  Implant Recovery and Restoration
Benefits

This technique allows for quick, easy and safe removal of excessive gingival tissue around the implant that might otherwise interfere with proper seating at the implant / retainer interface. Retainers that are not fully seated can eventually become loosened by occlusal forces – resulting in unstable restorations.

Technique and Laser Settings

Administer topical or papilla infiltration anesthetic as needed and set the Styla, StylaOrtho, SoftLase Pro® or OrthoLase® on a continuous wave of operation, utilizing 1.0 Watts of power, with an initiated tip. Quick, light brush strokes are made around the gingival recess, using the side of the initiated fiber to achieve the desired tissue flare and establish hemostasis. There is no concern when the fiber comes in contact with the implant, as long as the fiber is kept in continuous motion. Post operative pain medication is not required, as there is very minimal trauma to the tissue.
